Raspotify as Spotify Connect client

Raspotify which allows you to play the sound of Spotify Connect directly on a Raspbian distribution. This Spotify Connect client uses the Librespot library which allows developers to integrate Spotify services without using the official closed library offered by the company. Note that you will need a premium account. Open a terminal and enter the following command line: curl -sL https://dtcooper.github.io/raspotify/install.sh | sh Reluctance with Curl? you can install Raspotify like this:

sudo apt-get -y install curl apt-transport-https

curl -sSL https://dtcooper.github.io/raspotify/key.asc | sudo apt-key add -v -echo 'deb https://dtcooper.github.io/raspotify jessie main' | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/raspotify.list

Once Raspotify is in place, you will only have to configure it with your own Premium account and certain settings such as bitrate, volume normalization, cache location ... etc by going to edit the file / etc / default / raspotify
